If you’re fed up of your old Night Storage Heaters, read on…

Fed up was an understatement for our customer Carla who lives in Willenhall, whose two bedroomed, end of terrace was extremely chilly when she got home after a hard day at work. Having suffered with decrepit night storage heaters for many years, the day finally came when the decision to get some new heating came.

“In February, one of my old night storage heaters finally broke completely, so I was having to use oil filled heaters to compensate for the lack of warmth” Carla told us.

Night storage heaters, as many people will know, generate heat during the night and then the heat that is stored is output during the day, usually when the house is empty and everyone is at work, making them an unacceptable heat source in the 21st century. And as they are typically fitted with an Economy 7 meter, the daytime tariff customers sign up to can be extraordinarily high.

So Carla decided to contact North West Heating Solutions.

“A good friend of mine sent me a link to North West Heating’s website and suggested I give them a call. After speaking to Sam at the office, who was very helpful, I got a call back from the Managing Director, David, on the same day and he arranged an appointment to come and see me the very next day, which was a Saturday, to carry out a free home survey. David was extremely polite and professional and explained everything in detail”.

A survey from North West Heating usually takes approximately 2 hours.  During this time, customers will get to see a demonstration of the Elkatherm energy efficient electric heaters at first hand and the heating engineers will also check room sizes, insulation levels, glazing and assess the electrics, to ensure that they specify a heating system that meets the property’s requirements.

After the survey was complete, Carla decided to place the order to upgrade her heating.

“Originally after David showed me the extensive colour range, I got a bit carried away and ordered some vibrant colours, but then I changed my mind and decided to opt for a neutral ivory colour, which look great.  Sam couldn’t have been more helpful when I phoned the office and she swiftly amended the order”.

Since having the new electric radiators installed, Carla couldn’t be happier.

“The fitting was quick and the old night storage heaters were removed and taken away. The fitters hoovered up and left absolutely no mess at all.  They talked me through how to use the controls and set up the heating programmes and Sam and Emily at the office were on hand with whatever questions I had. I have to say, the aftersales care has been brilliant and they even offer a call-out service!”.

As a Which? Trusted Trader, North West Heating believe that customer service is at the heart of everything they do and this was a deal breaker for Carla.

“I noticed on their website and sales literature that they were a family run company and having had my own business for several years, this made me feel confident that I would get good service. Being a Which? Trusted Trader also added that extra level of confidence.  Being able to read through the customer reviews and seeing that North West Heating had personally responded to their customer comments shows the difference between a small, local company to that of other national brands”.

As the heaters were fitted in April, Carla hasn’t had enough time to use them to see any cost savings on her energy bills.

“The heaters are in frost mode at the moment which means they will only come on when the temperature drops dramatically, which is hopefully a few months away”.  Carla went on to say “cost saving wasn’t at the forefront of my mind when thinking about upgrading my heating system, it was all about warmth and when the heaters have been on, the house now finally feels properly heated”.
